Elite Health Blends believes in the power of affirmations to help you create a more positive mindset and environment for your health goals. We’ve compiled a list of affirmations for you to choose from to help you, and will be releasing a new one each week, with our “Affirmation of the Week” series. Along with the affirmation, you’ll get backgrounds to use on your computer, smartphone, or tablet to help remind you to use them. Here we’ll discuss what positive affirmations are, and how you can use them.
What are Positive Affirmations?
Positive affirmations are statements of desire, and can play a large roll in the mind body connection. These statements of desire work on your subconscious to turn the negative voice that lives in the back of our minds into a positive one. If you’ve ever heard the saying, “You can do anything you set your mind to.” consider this the way you “set” your mind. Positive affirmations can work for anything: wealth, career, love and relationships, self esteem, and weight loss. Whatever you want, you can get yourself on the right path with a well constructed affirmation.
You can either write your own affirmations, or use applicable ones already available. If you choose to write your own, avoid words such as “not,” “don’t,” or “won’t” and any word with a negative connotation. Instead, focus on making yourself the subject, and keeping the statement positive. Also avoid words such as “will” or anything that suggests the future. You are doing this now. Keep your affirmations short so they are easy to remember.
How to Use Positive Affirmations
To be effective, the affirmation needs to be repeated with interest and pride, and it needs to be repeated often. We recommend a minimum of three times per day, but the more, the better. You should use your affirmation whenever you are not doing something important, and to increase effectiveness, relax your body and avoid stress and tension while repeating them.
If you say the affirmations and then focus on negative thoughts the rest of the day, you’re not doing anything positive for yourself. You should also focus on ridding yourself of the negative thoughts and you will have to actively work to do so. This is why the repetition is a key part of your success.
How long it takes to see results will vary based on the size of your goal and how much time and effort you place toward working on it. In other words, if your affirmation relates to money, but you’re not actively working to secure a job or land that promotion, it’s not going to happen. The affirmation is only part of the equation, and serves to give you an extra edge toward attaining the desire.
When I first heard of positive affirmations, I was a skeptic, but I decided to give them a try anyway. After all, you don’t really know how something works until you try yourself. I am now a fan and use several on a daily basis. You’ll get to hear my story on an affirmation every week.
